CSDC Lokniti Post Poll Survey which caste voted for BJP NDA INDIA in Uttar Pradesh


The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led NDA coalition government is going to be formed again in the country. Narendra Modi On Sunday (9 June) he will take oath as the Prime Minister for the third consecutive time. Meanwhile, the data of the post poll survey conducted by the Center for the Study Developing Society (CSDS) with Lokniti has come out. The survey data tells that in which state, people of which caste or religion have voted for which party.

According to a report published in The Hindu, the CSDS post poll survey revealed that upper castes like Brahmins, Vaishyas and Rajputs supported the BJP while Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes and Muslim voters preferred the opposition alliance INDIA.

BJP could not reach the majority figure this time and now the NDA government is going to be formed. Although, NDA government has been in power in the country for the last 10 years, but during this period this is the first time that the party failed to touch the majority figure. BJP has got 240 seats and NDA alliance has got 293 seats. BJP has suffered the biggest setback in Uttar Pradesh. This time the party’s seats have reduced by almost half compared to 2019. While BJP won 62 seats in the last election, this time only 33 seats have come in its share, while NDA has got 36 seats. In 2019, NDA had 64 seats.

According to CSDS data, the upper caste voters of UP have voted the most for BJP. 79 percent of the upper caste votes of Uttar Pradesh have gone to BJP, while 16 percent went to INDIA alliance, Bahujan Samaj Party got only one percent and independents got 4 percent upper caste votes.
