How was the cyber fraud executed?

Two people first went to the jewellery shop posing as customers and said, “Show us jewellery for the wedding…” After this, they liked jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh and said that they would make the payment through RTGS (Real Time Gross Settlement) the next day and gave Rs 2 lakh in cash in advance.

The next day, the jewellers got a call that Rs 38 lakh had been RTGSed to their account. (RTGS is used for large transactions) When the jewellers checked their bank account, they found that Rs 38 lakh had indeed been deposited in it. After this, the jewellers asked them to take the jewellery. Both the men came and took the jewellery worth Rs 40 lakh and also gave their Aadhaar card and PAN card.

Police is investigating the matter

When the customers left, a few hours later the jeweler got a call from the police and was told that the money that had come into his account was stolen for cyber fraud. That is why this money has been frozen. Similarly, two more jewelers also got the shock of their money being frozen.

Later, the jewelers also came to know that the PAN card and Aadhar card given by the cyber criminals were also fake. The police has started investigation in this matter and the police also has CCTV footage.
