TRAI on Digital Fraud: The cases of cyber fraud are increasing rapidly in the country. Scammers are finding new ways to cheat every day. Recently, such cases have also come to light when scammers threaten to cut off essential services like electricity or internet or falsely claim that the victim is involved in illegal activities. In view of these matters, now the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has warned people.
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a warning regarding this. TRAI has clearly said that such calls are never made by the Telecom Department. TRAI has advised people to remain alert and report such calls using the Sanchar Saathi portal. Let us tell you that the cases of ‘Digital Arrest’ scam are increasing rapidly in the country.
PM Modi gave this advice to the people
Recently, PM Modi had also advised people not to get misled and to remain alert. According to government data, from January to April 2024, India has also suffered a financial loss of about Rs 120.3 crore due to the ‘Digital Arrest’ scam.
While explaining how to keep yourself safe from this scam, PM Modi said, “If ever you get such a call, you do not have to be afraid. You should know that no investigating agency will conduct such inquiries on phone call or video call. Never does.”
The PM told that, “You can avoid such fraud people and also complain about them through three steps, stop, think and take action.” The PM said that whenever you get such a call, you do not have to be afraid. We have to wait a bit, then think carefully about it and then take action.”
