According to media reports, 65-year-old Preeti Oza received an IVR call from the courier company on July 3. The woman was told that some passports, credit cards and some amount of drugs were found inside the parcel. The accused told the woman that a complaint has been lodged in this regard with the Mumbai Crime Branch. After this, the person on the other end introduced himself as Arjun Negi.

The man advised the woman to talk to an inspector named Ajay Bansal. After this, the woman talked to the fake inspector Ajay Bansal. In the name of investigation, Ajay Bansal obtained many information from the woman. Ajay Bansal asked the woman for important bank details, Aadhaar card and other details on WhatsApp.

After this, the woman received a call from a third person who introduced himself as a CBI officer. The person said that this is a money laundering case, in which the names of MLAs and ministers are involved. The fake CBI officer told the woman not to talk to anyone about this. After that he told the woman that DCP Bali Singh will talk to you. After this, the woman was made to confirm bank details etc. and was cheated of Rs 60 lakh.

The woman came to know about this scam when the scammers messaged her and said sorry we are scamming you.
