Benefits of cycling: If you want to keep your health good or avoid the risk of early death, then cycle daily. A new study has revealed that cycling reduces the risk of premature death by 47 percent. Not only this, it also reduces the risk of being admitted to the hospital due to any disease by 10 percent. British researchers have found in research published in BMJ Public Health that physical activities can reduce the risk of death (Cycling Benefits). Let’s know what the study says…
what the study says
In this study, more than 82,000 UK residents aged 16 to 74 were monitored for 18 years. It was observed what they travelled the most. Researchers also studied the risks of diseases and death in them. In this, walking or cycling was considered the most active way of travelling.
Driving and travelling in a vehicle were considered inactive. The number of pedestrians was higher among women. They work in shifts and walk a few kilometres in the city to school or work, while the number of men riding bicycles was higher.
Cycling reduces the risk of cancer
This study states that cycling to work reduces the risk of dying from cancer by 51%. The risk of heart disease also reduces by 24%. It also reduces mental problems by 20%. However, the risk of being admitted to hospital after a road accident was twice as high as those who travel by car or bus.
benefits of walking
This research found that walking reduces the risk of mental problems by 7 percent. The risk of hospitalization in such people was found to be reduced by 11 percent. The conclusion of this research found that cycling or walking not only keeps physical and mental health in good condition, but also reduces the risk of death at a young age.
