What is dermatomyositis?
Dermatomyositis comes under the category of a rare autoimmune disease, in this disease there is swelling in the skin and muscles. This is an autoimmune disease whose cause is considered to be a genetic problem. Apart from this, some medicines, smoking and virus infection as well as environment can also be the cause of this disease. The body’s immune system reacts differently to this disease and when the disease dominates, the body’s immune system becomes weak and due to this it becomes helpless in fighting the diseases. In such a situation, the immune system starts attacking the healthy tissues of the body and the person starts falling ill more rapidly.
Symptoms and risks of dermatomyositis
In this disease, rashes and rashes occur on the skin and the muscles become so weak that they start causing pain. In this disease, rashes may appear on the skin around the eyes and gradually the color of the patient’s skin starts becoming darker. But it is believed that some genetic factors and bad environment can cause it. Although this disease can happen to anyone, mostly children between 40 to 60 years of age and 5 years to 10 years become its victims. Doctors also say that women are more likely to suffer from dermatomyositis than men.
