Danny Denzongpa Birthday: Danny Denzongpa’s name is counted among the legendary villains of Bollywood. Danny, who comes from Sikkim, is celebrating his 75th birthday today. The actor has gained a lot of fame in his career so far by playing one role in films. But there was a time when Danny, who had come to Mumbai with the dream of becoming an actor, was offered the job of a guard by the director.

Danny Denzongpa once reached Mohan Kumar’s bungalow. There were many guards from Sikkim in that bungalow and that is why Danny got easy entry into the bungalow. When Danny went inside the bungalow and met Mohan Kumar and expressed his desire to become an actor, the director laughed at him.

Jaya Bachchan named Danny
The director had even told Danny that he was going to build a bungalow equal to his bungalow in which Danny would become a guard. To take revenge from Mohan Kumar, Danny later bought the land near the director’s bungalow and built his own bungalow on it. Danny’s real name was Tshering Pentso and the person who named him Danny was none other than his batchmate Jaya Bachchan.

Journey from Bollywood to Hollywood
Danny Denzongpa started his film career with the film ‘Mere Apne’ (1971). In 1973, he played a negative character for the first time in the film ‘Dhundh’ and became famous. After this, he appeared in ‘Seven Years in Tibet’ with Hollywood actor Brad Pitt in 2003.

Actor awarded with Padmashree Award
Along with Hindi, Danny also worked in Nepali, Tamil, Telugu and Hollywood films. He became known to every household by playing characters like Kancha Cheena, Bakhtawar, Khuda Baksh and in the year 2003, he was awarded the Padmashree Award.
