Dasvi Review: Seeing this Haryanvi style of Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur, you will definitely say, ‘Oh wow…’

Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur starrer film ‘Dasvi’ has been released on Netflix and Jio Cinema on April 7 i.e. today. This story of Gangaram Chaudhary, the Chief Minister of Harit Pradesh, who has been living the inherited politics, knocks the door of education through politics and that too in a very funny way. In this film directed by Tushar Jalota, Abhishek Bachchan has played the role of the Chief Minister, who will once again win your heart with his dashing style and Haryanvi language.

Story: Dasvin is the story of Harit Pradesh Chief Minister Gangaram Chowdhary (Abhishek Bachchan) who gets caught in the hands of the law after getting caught in a teacher recruitment scam. The court has sent the CM to custody till the investigation continues. After reaching the custody, Gangaram Chowdhary has complete luxury in the jail also because the jailer has been appointed by him, he is a devotee. The twist in the story comes from the entry of Jyoti Deswal (Yami Gautam), the new jailer of this jail, who is a very tough jailer. As soon as he came to the jail, the jailer madam stopped all the VIP treatment of the CM and put him to work. On the other hand, when the CM went to jail, his wife Bimla Devi, who was still grazing buffalo at home, sat on his chair. During a debate in the jail, Jailer Jyoti makes CM Gangaram Chowdhary realize that he has studied only till eighth grade and is a completely illiterate person. Gangaram Chowdhary was touched by Jailer Madam’s talk and from here he decided to pass the tenth standard. Now will CM Saheb be able to complete his 10th from jail after years and how this 10th will change his life, this is the story of this film.

The story of ‘Dasvin’ may be speaking on a very important subject like the importance of education, but along with it the political situation that has been shown is commendable. The character of the Jat leader played by Abhishek Bachchan is excellent. The best thing about this film is that the feeling of heaviness or cumbersome will not come anywhere. The story with tremendous performance in the packet of comedy will keep you engaged from beginning to end. The story is definitely lying loose at some places, but what is most important in any film, that is, the meaning of that story, you will find it in abundance in this film.

Abhishek Bachchan has captured the style of A Politics will me Politics on the lines of ‘Men will be Men’. Not only Abhishek, both the leading ladies of the film have also been strong in their respective characters. I would like to make a special mention here about Nimrat Kaur, who is showing a negative shade in this film, but believe me, whenever she comes on the screen, instead of hating her, you will start loving her. Nimrat has been brilliant in the role of Bimla Devi. Especially his swearing scene. In the entire film, both Nimrat and Abhishek have caught the language and its style in a tremendous way. On the other hand, whenever Yami Gautam is seen standing in front of CM Choudhary’s tall stature, she may look weak but she has been seen giving tremendous competition with her acting.

Nimrat Kaur has become Abhishek Bachchan’s wife in this film.

The biggest feature of this film is that here you do not find anyone wrong, even CM Choudhary who was caught in the scam. In fact, he seems to openly accept these scams perpetrated in the system. In this era of films with intense drama, smoky action and super power, ‘Dasvin’ is a cool breeze, which is not an extra ordinary character but a story of becoming extra through the education of an ordinary character. 3.5 stars to this movie from my side.
