There was a sensation when the body of a youth was found hanging in a suspicious condition on an under-construction flyover in the Aman Vihar area of Rohini district in the early hours of Wednesday. Seeing the dead body hanging, passers-by immediately informed the police. The body was hanging from the railing of the flyover. Seeing the situation, the police also called the fire department team to the spot.
Later, somehow the body was brought down and sent to the mortuary of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. After some time the youth was identified as Harpreet (35). On Wednesday itself, the police conducted the post-mortem of Harpreet’s body in the presence of family members and handed it over to the family. After initial investigation, police are suspecting suicide. Police have not recovered any suicide note from the deceased. The matter is being investigated by interrogating the family members. Apart from examining the CCTV cameras installed nearby, the Aman Vihar police station is investigating the matter by interrogating the employees working on the under-construction flyover.
According to the police, Harpreet lived with his family in Utsav Vihar, Karala. Apart from his mother and wife, he has a child in his family. Harpreet was a driver by profession. He was unemployed for the last few days. He was looking for work. Because of this he was very upset. He had left on Tuesday evening saying he was going for some work. Meanwhile, around 6.00 am on Wednesday, passersby saw his body hanging in the air on the under-construction Urban Extension Road-2 (UER-2) flyover. As soon as the news was received, the police reached the spot. The young man was hanging high. In such a situation, it was very difficult to remove his dead body. Fire personnel were called to the spot. Later the police and fire brigade team brought down the body.
He was immediately taken to the hospital, where the doctors declared him dead. The family members have accused Harpreet of murder and hanging the body on the flyover. The police are investigating the allegations of the family members. After investigation, further action is being taken based on the facts.
