Sasni Gate police station in Aligarh has arrested one accused Kamalkant and revealed the murder of Geetam which happened about a month ago. Police claim that the murder took place due to a love triangle and a dispute over distribution of money from the illegal marijuana business. In this case, three accused including the woman are still absconding.
On the instructions of the DIG, this case was sent from Sasni police station Hathras to Sasni Gate police station of Aligarh for investigation. When the police took the investigation further, they found that Geetam had brought the woman named in the incident with him. That woman was related to another person from the village, Munim. Munim and Geetam were previously jailed in a ganja smuggling case. After coming out, a dispute started regarding the share of money.
The immoral relations of both of them with the woman were also becoming a cause of controversy. In the same dispute, Munim, with the help of his two other associates, called Geetam to the village and then made her drink alcohol, strangled her to death and threw her body in a pond. According to Inspector Sasni Gate, one accused Kamalkant has been arrested in the case. The search for the accountant, woman and one other is still going on.

Geetam, originally a resident of Vighaipur of Sasni in Hathras, used to work as a plumber while living on rent in Pala Sahibabad of Sasni Gate in Aligarh. He went missing from home on 14 December. The family had lodged a missing complaint at Sasnigate police station on December 17. On 26 December, his dead body was found lying in a pond in village Vighaipur. On the complaint of family members, Sasani police registered a case of murder against two people including the woman. During investigation, his location before the incident was found to be in Sasni Gate. The investigation on this was transferred to Aligarh.
