deaths due to waterlogging delhi municipal corporation state government or central government who will be responsible for this

Deaths due to water logging: For the last few months, Delhi was experiencing extreme heat. Delhiites were suffering badly due to the heat. But now Delhiites have got some relief from the heat. Monsoon has arrived in Delhi. It rained heavily in Delhi on Friday morning.

Due to this rain, on one hand, Delhi residents got relief. On the other hand, the fast pace of Delhi came to a halt. Monsoon arrived in Delhi on 26 June and on 28 June, there was heavy rain in Delhi. Due to the heavy rain, many areas of Delhi were flooded.

And due to this waterlogging, many people have faced problems. And due to this many accidents have also happened. Now the question arises that who is responsible for the deaths caused due to waterlogging in Delhi. Municipal Corporation, Delhi Government or Central Government, let’s know.

60 feet wide roads come under PWD

All roads in Delhi that are wider than 60 feet are managed by the PWD, which works under the Delhi government. Earlier, Manish Sisodia was the PWD minister. Currently, Atishi Marlena, a minister in the Delhi government, is handling the charge of PWD minister in Delhi.

All the main roads in Delhi are more than 60 feet wide. This means that the Delhi government is responsible for all those roads. In such a situation, if water accumulates on those roads during rain, then the responsibility for anyone’s death due to waterlogging lies with the PWD i.e. the Delhi government.

The Municipal Corporation looks after roads less than 60 feet wide

In Delhi, the responsibility and share regarding roads is divided. Where roads more than 60 feet wide are the responsibility of PWD i.e. Delhi Government. On the other hand, roads less than 60 feet wide are under the supervision of Municipal Corporation. In such a situation, if there is any problem of water logging on these roads, then the responsibility of this lies with Delhi Municipal Corporation.

Most of the roads in Delhi’s residential colonies are less than 60 feet wide. If we talk about their total length, the Municipal Corporation looks after 12 thousand kilometers of roads. In such a situation, if someone dies due to waterlogging on these roads, then the Municipal Corporation is responsible for this.
