The results of the Gujarat assembly elections are out. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party has created a new record. In Gujarat, which has 182 assembly seats, 156 BJP candidates won the elections. The Congress suffered the most. The Congress came straight down to 17 from 77 seats. Means Congress had to bear the loss of 60 seats. At the same time, this time only five candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party, which claimed to form the government, could win the elections. The SP candidate won one seat, while the remaining three seats were won by independent candidates.
The BJP had fielded Hitesh Kumar Vasava on Dediapada assembly seat in Narmada district. AAPâs Chaitarabhai Damjibhai Vasava was in front of him. Here AAPâs Chaitarabhai Damjibhai Vasava defeated BJPâs Hiteshkumar Vasava by 40,282 votes. BJP candidate got 63,151 votes while AAP got 1,03,433 votes here.
Congress bail forfeited
In Dediyapada, the Congress was at number three. INCâs Jermaben Vasava got 12,587 votes which was 6.8 per cent of the total votes. That is, Jermaben Vasava could not even save her bail. At the same time, BTP candidate Bahadur Singh Vasava also could not save his deposit. He got only 2,991 votes. In Dediapada, 2,974 voters pressed the NOTA button. This time a total of four candidates were in the fray for Dediapada seat.
BTP got victory in 2017
The BTP, which got just 2,991 votes this time, had won the seat in 2017. In the 2017 assembly elections, BTPâs Maheshbhai Vasava defeated BJPâs Motilal Vasava by a margin of 21,000 votes. A total of nine candidates were in the fray here. Apart from these two, the deposits of the remaining seven candidates were forfeited.
BJP did not win a single seat in Narmada district in 2017.
In the last assembly elections, one of the two seats in Narmada district was won by the Congress candidate, while the BTP candidate was successful in winning one seat. The BJP could not get a single seat here.
After the 1995 assembly elections, no party has won this seat twice in a row. BJPâs Motilal Vasava won here in 1995. Amar Singh Vasava of Janata Dal won in 1998 and Maheshbhai Vasava of Janata Dal United won in 2002. In 2007, Amarsingh Vasava won on K ticket. And in 2012, BJPâs Motilal Vasava had won from here.
