1.Aishwarya Rai was selected as the lead actress for the film Padmavat but due to some reasons she could not sign the film and the film went to Deepika Padukone.
2.In a song from the film ‘Ghoomar’, Deepika wore a 30 kg lehenga and around 400 kg gold jewellery. Deepika took about 66 rounds in one scene of this song.
3. At the time of casting, when Deepika came to know that her opposite was Shahid Kapoor, she initially refused. She thought that Shahid would be shorter than her in height but when the shooting started, Deepika’s misconception was cleared.
4.There is an Arabic song in the film whose lyrics are ‘Binte Dil Missiriya’ and this song was sung by Arijit Singh. Arijit had sung it in such a way that while listening it does not seem as if it has been sung by any Indian singer.
5. In the film, Jim Sarbh played the role of commander of Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh). His character was much noticed and his acting was also appreciated.
6.Sanjay Leela Bhansali had thought about this film about 10 years ago. In which he wanted to cast Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai but his dream could not be fulfilled, later this film had to be made with Deepika, Shahid and Ranveer.
7.If we talk about the budget of the film Padmavat, it was Rs 215 crores whereas the film had collected more than Rs 500 crores at the worldwide box office. With this, this film proved to be a blockbuster.
8.The release of this film was stopped a lot by Karni Sena but Sanjay Leela Bhansani sought protection from the government and it was released.
