A layer of fog has engulfed Kurpur and surrounding areas as the AQI has dropped to 346. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, it has been placed in ‘very poor’ category. At the same time, poisonous foam was seen floating on the Yamuna river, as the pollution level in the river remains high.

Khushal Chaudhary, a local resident of Kurpur, said, “I am a college student and I have to leave for my college early in the morning. I feel difficulty in breathing due to the increasing pollution. Firecrackers have been banned in Delhi, But we still saw a lot of firecrackers being burst, which means the government is not doing anything to control this pollution.

According to SAFAR-India, the AQI has reached ‘very poor’ category with 307, causing fog in the Akshardham temple and surrounding areas.
