Politics is hot over vote loss in the capital. Now the matter has reached the Chief Election Commission. On Wednesday, a delegation of AAP leaders led by AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal reached the Election Commission. During this, 3000 pages of documents were handed over to the Commission officials in support of their allegations. CM Atishi, Sanjay Singh, Pankaj Gupta, Jasmin Shah and Reena Gupta etc. were present in the delegation.
After leaving the Election Commission, Kejriwal alleged in the media that BJP is snatching away the rights of people as citizens by cutting their votes in Delhi. BJP workers have applied to delete the names of thousands of voters in many assembly constituencies. Most of them are poor, Scheduled Caste, Purvanchali, who live in slums and kutcha colonies. Taking cognizance of AAP’s complaints, the Election Commission has assured action.

According to Kejriwal, he put before the Election Commission how a BJP official in Shahdara secretly gave the list to the Commission to get the names of 11008 people deleted. In Janakpuri, BJP workers have applied to cancel 4874 votes. Similarly, the condition of different assembly constituencies is also there. Our demand was that the process of vote-cutting on a large scale should be stopped. Now the Election Commission has done the summary revision. FIR should be registered against those who have made such applications.
The Election Commission has said that no one’s name will be removed from the voter list before the elections. Meanwhile, if necessary, if this has to be done then it will not be done on the basis of the list, if anyone wants deletion then he will have to fill Form 7, deletion will be done on that basis. If the Election Commission decides that there is a deletion, then there will be a field inquiry first. In the field inquiry, the BLO will also take along with him officials and representatives of other parties.
22,649 names deleted in seven assembly constituencies
AAP leader Manish Sisodia and MP Raghav Chadha spoke to the media. Both alleged that 22,649 votes were deducted from seven seats. These include the names of 7,055 people in Janakpuri, 3,861 in Karawal Nagar, 4,016 in Tughlakabad, 1,641 in Palam, 534 in Mustafabad, 637 in Hari Nagar and 1,274 in Rajouri Garden. Most of the people applying for this are associated with BJP. Sisodia said that perhaps these would not be BJP voters, hence a conspiracy is being hatched to cut off the names. When the BJP is not able to win the elections in Delhi, it is killing the Constitution by snatching away the people’s right to vote.
There are many assembly constituencies where BJP workers have applied to cut votes of several thousand people. Raghav Chadha said that a large number of vote cutting applications have been given in seven big assembly constituencies. The question arises that who is submitting these applications in large numbers after the summary revision of the Election Commission is over? There are 9 people in Palam Assembly constituency who have given 1,641 applications. These nine people are those whose connections are with BJP.
