After the BJPâs defeat in the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections, the party has handed over the reins of the state to Virendra Sachdeva. Newly appointed party president Virendra Sachdeva had a detailed conversation with our correspondent on what will be the partyâs priorities in Delhi now and what role it is ready to play in the Vidhansabha-Municipal Corporation. Presenting the main part-
Question- Virendra Sachdeva ji, by making you the working president of the party, you have a big responsibility. What will be your priorities now?
Answer- By making an ordinary worker like me the working president, the party has entrusted a big responsibility. For this, I express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Party President JP Nadda. As far as priorities are concerned, our leader Prime Minister Narendra Modi is running many public welfare schemes for the poor. It is the responsibility of every worker to make the information about these schemes of the Central Government accessible to every person, to provide benefits of these schemes to every eligible person. We will also play a positive role in Delhi Legislative Assembly and Municipal Corporation and will put pressure on the government to implement schemes in the interest of the people of Delhi.
Question- The BJP was in power in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for 15 years. What do you think, why the BJP had to face defeat in this election?
Answer- See, we got 36 percent votes in the last Municipal Corporation elections. This time we have got success in 104 seats with more than 39 percent votes. Would you call it a defeat? The increase in our vote percentage shows that our popularity has increased among the public due to the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We definitely lagged behind by a few seats. But the Delhi government is entirely responsible for this. Under a conspiracy, the names of our voters were deleted from the voter list due to which we had to face defeat in many seats.
And we are not saying this out of thin air. We have enough proof of this. Let me tell you for example. In Ward No. 235, names of 9600 voters were struck off, while our candidate was defeated by only 1948 votes on this seat. Similarly, names of a large number of voters were removed from the voter list in North-East, West and South wards and Pandav Nagar. Is this not a proof that the Kejriwal government has hatched a massive conspiracy to win?
Question- It is the responsibility of the Election Commission to conduct elections. How will you hold the Delhi government responsible for any of its work?
Answer- The Election Commission requisitions employees from the State Government to conduct the elections. Serious objections have come to the fore regarding the BLOs provided by the Delhi Government. We will soon reveal this conspiracy.
Question- If these allegations are true, will you take any action on this?
Answer- Right now we are collecting data from all the 250 wards of Delhi through our workers. We are also trying to contact those whose names have been deleted from the voter list. We will have all the figures in a day or two. After this we will make a big disclosure. We will decide what course of action to take after consulting top party leaders, workers and legal luminaries.
Question- The BJP fiercely raised the issue of corruption throughout the elections, but even after this the Aam Aadmi Party was successful in forming the government. What would you say?
Answer- Of course, we strongly raised the issue of corruption being done by the Arvind Kejriwal government and its leaders in the peopleâs court. The results of the election show that the public voted on the issue of corruption and the Aam Aadmi Party was defeated in the assemblies of Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain and Kailash Gehlot, the big faces of the Delhi government. The Aam Aadmi Party suffered a crushing defeat in the assembly till Durgesh Pathak, the Corporation election in-charge of the Aam Aadmi Party. By voting against corruption, the public has told that the days of Arvind Kejriwalâs politics of lies are about to end.
Question- This time BJP has also got a lot of votes from slum areas. What is the reason for this?
Answer- There is only one reason for this â the increasing trust in BJP among the public due to the policies of the central government. Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave pucca houses to 3026 slum dwellers of Delhi. This has strengthened his belief that if anyone is working to change his life, it is Narendra Modi. While others just want to get their votes by showing free raves. As a result, the BJP has won a landslide victory in every slum area of ââSonia Vihar, Sabhapur, Bhajanpura, Geeta Colony, Narayana, Sangam Vihar and Burari in East Delhi. We will live up to the trust of the people. About 26 thousand houses are being completed in Delhi. Soon Prime Minister Modi will hand over the keys of pucca houses to all of them.
Question- Throughout the elections, the Aam Aadmi Party kept alleging that the BJP did not do the work of cleanliness in Delhi. What will you say?
Answer- This allegation of AAP is completely baseless. The truth is that the garbage disposal at Ghazipur landfill site is being done continuously with the machines installed by us and due to this the height of the garbage mountain has reduced by 20 feet. Today, there is no complaint from any street in any corner of Delhi that the garbage collection vehicle is not coming to their place. During the Corona period, we had made arrangements to get the garbage picked up from each house through these corporation employees. Can anyone deny the great service done by the corporation employees during the Corona period? But Kejriwal has been claiming that he will finish the garbage in a year. Now they should do it. The truth is that there are 17 such garbage mountains in Punjab. The Aam Aadmi Party has not been able to do any such work there till date. Kejriwalâs lies will be exposed.
Question- Will you try to make your mayor in the Municipal Corporation?
Answer- The people of Delhi have ordered us to sit in the opposition. We will follow the orders of the public and play every possible positive role in the development of Delhi. People have ordered Aam Aadmi Party to form the government, they should do their duty. If the government is found making mistakes anywhere, we will strongly raise the issues of the people.
