NIA NSG FSL Works: Today i.e. on 20th October, the festival of Karva Chauth is being celebrated all over India. Karva Chauth has great significance before the arrival of Diwali. Markets are decorated all around, people do a lot of shopping in the markets. But the day of Karva Chauth started with a bad news for Delhi. A massive bomb blast took place near CRPF School in Rohini Prashant Vihar area of Delhi. However, there was no news of any loss of life in this blast.
Nor was any major loss revealed. But an explosion in the country’s capital on this important day is being considered a big threat from security point of view. FSL team, NSG team and IB team along with CRPF, Delhi Police and Special Cell have reached the spot for investigation. Let us tell you what is the work of NSG, NIA and FSL and how different these investigating agencies are from each other.
National Investigation Agency (NIA)
After the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the Indian government formed the National Investigation Agency i.e. NIA. The Indian government had formed a separate agency to investigate terrorist activities in India. NIA is the main agency in India investigating all crimes related to terrorism and national security.
NIA investigates all crimes like terrorism, Naxalism, cross border crimes, arms smuggling and human trafficking. If any case is related to the security of the country or related to terrorism, then NIA has the right to investigate in any state without the permission of the state government. NIA is also investigating the Delhi attack.

National Security Guard (NSG)
In the year 1984, when the then Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi was assassinated. Only after that the government had established a special security group i.e. National Security Guard. NSG is a special kind of security force. Which is used to carry out anti-terrorism operations and hostage situations or any high profile security mission. NSG commandos also provide security to VVIPs.
They are also called Black Cat Commando. Selected soldiers from Paramilitary Forces and Indian Army are recruited in NSG. NSG has Special Action Group and Special Rangers Group for action. Where NIA investigates terrorist incidents and activities. Whereas NSG works to prevent terrorist incidents and fight terrorists.
Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL)
The first Forensic Science Laboratory in India was established in Kolkata, West Bengal in the year 1952. At present there are a total of seven forensic science laboratories in India. Forensic Science Laboratory investigates crimes through scientific methods and collects evidence and examines it. Forensic Science Laboratory collects evidence from the crime scene. In which blood, hair, DNA, weapons, digital equipment and whatever else is found.
Analyzes it, apart from this it also examines fingerprints and documents from the crime scene. There are different sections in the Forensic Science Laboratory. In which there are different experts to investigate things like ballistics, DNA, and drugs. The work of NIA and FSL is more of investigation. So NSG does field action work there. The objective of all three agencies is to strengthen the security of the country.
