National Investigation Agency (NIA)

After the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the Indian government formed the National Investigation Agency i.e. NIA. NIA investigates all crimes like terrorism, Naxalism, cross border crimes, arms smuggling and human trafficking. National Security Guard (NSG)

NSG commandos also provide security to VVIPs.

They are also called Black Cat Commando. Selected soldiers from Paramilitary Forces and Indian Army are recruited in NSG. NSG has Special Action Group and Special Rangers Group for action. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL)

The first Forensic Science Laboratory in India was established in Kolkata, West Bengal in the year 1952. At present there are a total of seven forensic science laboratories in India. Forensic Science Laboratory investigates crimes through scientific methods and collects evidence and examines it. Forensic Science Laboratory collects evidence from the crime scene. In which blood, hair, DNA, weapons, digital equipment and whatever else is found.

Analyzes it, apart from this it also examines fingerprints and documents from the crime scene. There are different sections in the Forensic Science Laboratory. In which there are different experts to investigate things like ballistics, DNA, and drugs. The work of NIA and FSL is more of investigation. So NSG does field action work there.
