Delhi : Both Constables Accused Of Robbing One Kg Of Gold At Delhi Airport Sacked

Police constables Havildar Robin and Gaurav, both accused of looting one kg of gold from two people at IGI Airport, have been dismissed from service on Friday.

Confirming this, DCP Ravi Kumar Singh of IGI Airport district said that orders were issued in this regard on Friday. Airport district police officials claimed that the other accused would be identified soon.

A senior official of the IGI Airport police station said that both were dismissed on the basis of circumstantial evidence. However, the gold looted from the possession of the accused constables has not yet been recovered.

The police have CCTV footage of several places against the accused. In these, the accused are seen making the victim Salahuddin sit in the gypsy, taking the gold, getting him off the gypsy and taking him away.

District police officers say that the identification parade (TIP) of both the accused constables will be conducted on January 2. After the identification parade, both will be brought on police remand. Only after this efforts will be made to recover the looted gold.

Arrested constables Robin and Gaurav will be interrogated and their accomplices will be identified. The accomplices of the accused were traveling in the taxi. These accused have not been identified yet. On the other hand, the investigation of the case may soon be handed over to the Crime Branch of Delhi Police.
