Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared in the court on Saturday through video conference. He assured the court that he would appear physically in March after the budget session of the Delhi Assembly ends. After this, the court accepted the assurance and fixed the hearing for March 16. The court had summoned him for not complying with the summons issued against him by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

During the hearing of the case before Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Divya Malhotra of Rouse Avenue Court, Kejriwal said that he could not be physically present today as the Budget session is going on and the floor test is to be held. I wanted to come to the court, but suddenly the floor test came. After this, the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate adjourned the hearing of the case till March 16.

Kejriwal assured that he will personally appear before the court in the case filed against him by ED for non-compliance of the central agency’s summons in the Delhi Excise policy. Kejriwal was summoned by the court on February 7. The ED has filed a criminal complaint against Kejriwal after he failed to appear before the central agency despite being issued five summons on different dates.
