The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested the leader of the Kana gang. The arrested accused has been identified as Arshad alias Sabim alias Kana (27). Police have recovered a pistol, two cartridges, a sports bike and five looted mobile phones from the accused. The recovered bike was found stolen from Jamia Nagar area.
During interrogation, the accused has revealed that he had committed several incidents of robbery to arrange the marriage of his younger sister. 14 cases of robbery and snatching are already registered against the accused. Arshad has a bad eye, because of this the gang members named him Kana. Crime Branch Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjay Kumar Sen said that on April 16, SI Pawan Malik had received the news that the leader of the Kana gang was about to come near Pandav Nagar bus stop. After receiving the information, a team was immediately formed. The team laid a trap on the spot. Meanwhile, the bike rider reached there at around 4.30 in the evening.
When the police tried to stop him, the accused started running away from there. The police team controlled the accused. A stolen bike, pistol and five mobile phones were recovered from the accused. During interrogation, the accused told that he had studied only till second class. Became addicted to drugs at a very young age. The accused initially started stealing the vehicle and selling it. Later he started looting and snatching. He formed his own gang by the name of Kana Gang. The accused used to commit incidents of robbery and snatching on sports bikes. The police is investigating the case by interrogating the arrested accused.
