A young man stabbed his wife to death in a dispute over a minor issue on Friday night in KN Katju Marg area. His four children were present there at the time of the incident. On the noise of the children, the people around reached there and caught the accused and handed them over to the police.
The deceased woman has been identified as Pinky (28), originally from West Bengal. Pinky lived in the Bengali Colony area with her husband Akbar, three sons and a daughter. Akbar works as a rag picker in Delhi. Police officials said that on Friday night at 9 o’clock, the police received information about a knife attack on a woman in Bengali Colony. Police reached the spot and found the woman lying on the floor in a pool of blood. The police took him to the hospital. Where the doctors declared him dead.
Investigation revealed that the accused is a drug addict. He often had a fight with his wife over something or the other. Even on Friday night Akbar came home and after talking with his wife started abusing her. On protesting, the accused started a scuffle. In another development, it has been learned that Kamal, a youth, was stabbed to death in Sarai Rohilla area to avenge the insult. The police have arrested the main accused and his associate in this regard. The accused have been identified as Abhishek alias Dancer (21) and Suneet (18), a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri in UP.
Scooty and other items used in the incident have been recovered from the accused. The accused Abhishek alias Dancer is already an accused in a case of attempt to murder. Efforts are being made to recover the weapons used in the crime from them. During interrogation, it has come to know that two-three months back, Kamal had insulted Abhishek in a park. Since then Abhishek was planning to take revenge on Kamal. Kamal (23), a resident of JJ Colony, was stabbed by some boys on the late night of July 5, said Sagar Singh Kalsi, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North District.
Two minors admitted Kamal to Deepchand Bandhu Hospital, where he died during treatment. Police registered a case of murder and started investigation. After a lot of effort, the accused Abhishek and Sujit were identified. After this, both the accused were nabbed on Friday.
