Danish Ali has written a letter in protest against the proposal to remove the Sunehari Bagh Mosque built in Lutyens Zone of Delhi. In the letter written to the Chairman of the Heritage Conservation Committee, it has been said that in the age of technology, alternative measures can be taken to maintain the traffic system smoothly, and for this, removing the mosque is not the last option. This letter comes after the proposal in which people’s opinion has been sought regarding the removal of the mosque built in the middle of the road to improve the traffic system in this very important area of Lutyens region. Expelled BSP MP Danish Ali has said that the objective of the Heritage Committee is to conserve historical buildings, and the proposal to remove the mosque affects the basic objective of its formation.
In fact, the Supreme Court has said in one of its orders that buildings of any religion built in the middle of main roads important for traffic should be removed with immediate effect. For this, it has also been said that proper cooperation will be given from the administration. After this order, such religious buildings are being removed from different parts of the country, due to which there are problems in traffic.
It is believed that the administration has decided to remove Sunehri Bagh Mosque also following the same order of the Supreme Court. The said mosque is built in the middle of the main road in a very important area of Lutyens Zone.
