Alert on social media Special Cell of Delhi Police took timely action and saved the lives of two students. Before committing suicide, a student from Assam posted the fan’s photo on social media and wrote goodbye. The same, the student of Gurugram wrote that he has become a victim of stress. The parents scolded the student for his low marks. On this the student had made up his mind to commit suicide. Police officers say that the students will be monitored through social media and police control room for a week.

Prashant Gautam, Deputy Commissioner of Police, IFSO, Special Cell, said that the police had been alerted since Friday morning in view of the 10th and 12th examination results. The number of teams monitoring social media was increased from 2 to 6. Apart from this, the number of policemen was also increased in the police control room at number 112. After the result, the police got the first alert on Facebook, in which a 10th class student from Assam had posted a photo of the fan of the room and wrote Goodbye.

Due to this the police feared that the student might commit suicide. On this senior officers of Delhi Police immediately informed Assam Police and Assam Police was sent to the house. Police reached the spot in time and rescued the student. At the behest of the Delhi Police, the Assam Police got the students and their parents counselled. In this way the Delhi Police saved the life of a student hundreds of kilometers away.

After this, the Delhi Police received a second alert, in which a student wrote on social media that he had become a victim of stress and was thinking of taking dangerous steps. When the police found out the address of the student, it turned out to be Gurugram. Delhi Police contacted Gurugram Police and sent it to the student’s house. It was found here that the student had scored less in class 12th and was scolded by his parents for this. The lack of parents came to the fore in the investigation. On this, the Delhi Police, along with the Gurugram Police, conducted counseling for the parents and also explained to the student.

Three killed due to failure and low marks

Two class 12 girl students and a student committed suicide by hanging themselves at three places in the capital after the results of the board exams came out. Suicide notes have not been found in all the three cases, but the relatives say that all three took the step due to poor results.

Shivani, 19, lived in A Block Sultanpuri with her parents, two sisters and a brother. The cousin told that Shivani had failed in four subjects. At half past five in the evening she went to the room on the top floor. The family thought that she had gone to make tea, but when there was no sound from above, when the mother arrived, Shivani was hanging from the fan with the help of a chunni. No suicide note was found. In the room where he died, the result was kept on the bed. On investigation, it was found that he had failed in four subjects.

At the same time, the police got information about the suicide of the teenager from Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital in Harinagar late on Friday night. The police came to know that the teenager has been declared brought dead. The girl has been identified as Ashpreet Kaur (16). Father told that Ashpreet was a 12th student of science stream. She had got 75 per cent marks, due to which she was upset. Went to the room at night. When the father went to his room, he saw him hanging.

Here, in Okhla, due to failure in a subject in 12th standard, hurt Pintu ended his life. Relatives told that he was upset after getting 30 marks in economics.

Parents prepare their children to succeed, but fail to prepare them to face failure. Words like parental pressure and fear of missing out are seen a lot on social media these days. Due to this, the danger of losing their identity dominates them. He finds no other option than to commit suicide or leave home.
