The central government will give Rs 1,500 crore to make Delhi’s roads gleaming and spectacular. With this amount from the Central Road Fund, work will be done under the supervision of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari gave this information on Wednesday. On this occasion, along with the Lieutenant Governor, he also inaugurated the project related to the beautification of about 8 km long Dhailakuan-IGI Airport road.

The Union Minister informed that the Central Government will spend Rs 1,500 crore to improve the roads of Delhi. This will include road related projects of the Delhi government. Under this, center verges, footpaths will also be repaired along with the roads.

There will also be arrangements for pedestrians to walk and sit on the roadside. Apart from this, lighting etc. will be improved to enhance the beauty. All the projects will be implemented under the supervision of the Lieutenant Governor.

Rather, the statues of elephants and lions made of stones also give a different feeling in the journey. About 600 post top lantern fittings have been installed to illuminate this part. On the initiative of LG VK Saxena, the road has been beautified in view of G-20. Funded by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), this part was built at a cost of 22 crores.

Along with roadside landscaping, pedestrian facilities, beautification, installation of foot over bridges and grills, fountains and sculptures are also being installed. There are scrolling screens on the walls and LED screens on the street. The 30 high jet fountains in Dhaula Kuan around the wall are beautifully carved fountains.
