The BJP has alleged that the Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi is spying on its leaders. For this, a special unit has been formed under the control of the government, whose officers have been engaged only to spy on BJP leaders. The party termed it as misuse of the power of the government for its political gains with public money. The party is also mulling over demanding a high-level inquiry by filing a formal complaint in this regard.
Since this alleged espionage unit was set up under a ministry headed by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Sisodia may also come under fire for its investigation. That is, after the liquor scam, their problems may increase in this case also.
Delhi BJP working president Virendra Sachdeva has said that the Arvind Kejriwal government has been working with anarchy since its inception in 2015. Now its evidence has also come to the fore. He said that the government acts with ulterior motives towards its political opponents and believes in suppressing them.
He said that for this purpose, on February 1, 2016, the Kejriwal government had established the FBU (Feedback Unit). Not only political opponents, Union Ministers, MPs, Lt. Governor’s Office, media houses, prominent businessmen, but even judges were monitored.
Sachdeva said that FBU was established only on the basis of approval of his cabinet without taking administrative and financial approval. In this, 17 police and other personnel brought from Bihar Police were kept. They were headed by a retired CISF DIG. This FBU was given an establishment fund of Rs 1 crore and named as the Secret Service Fund.
He questioned as to whom Kejriwal had to get investigated, for which a secret fund was created. Funds worth crores were made from this fund to private investigation agencies, as well as to set up informers.
questions were raised
Sachdeva said that the Vigilance Department of the Delhi Government had raised objections to the establishment of this unit. On this objection, when Ashwani Kumar became Vigilance Director in September 2016, he asked for the account of work done by FBU, but he could not give any report of his work. Meanwhile, in August 2015, Delhi High Court’s order came that the Lieutenant Governor would be supreme in all matters of Delhi, then the Kejriwal government had to send the file of FBU establishment to the then Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung. Not only did he reject the file, objecting to the creation of such a new organization under the vigilance department, but also ordered a CBI inquiry.
Kejriwal should tell who got the espionage done
Sachdeva has said that the government should explain that despite the existence of ACB and Vigilance Department, why FBU was set up for retired people? What was its purpose? If its purpose was to keep an eye on political opponents, as it is also clear from the CBI report that 60% of its reports were only political, then which leaders were spied by the government? The CBI investigation has revealed that the FBU had given around 700 reports to the Kejriwal government. Kejriwal tell on which of these reports what action was taken?
Delhi BJP leader Manoj Tiwari said that Arvind Kejriwal got power in the name of serving the public, but after coming to power, he is using the full power of the government only to eliminate his opponents. The officers who have been appointed to work for the public interest are misusing them to hatch conspiracies against their political opponents.
It is alleged that this special unit was established in 2016 itself under a ministry of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Initially, it was said to make it work like a statutory body. It was said to be a part of the government’s feedback system, the purpose of which was to get ground information about the feedback from the public about the actions of the government. But it is alleged that this entire unit was used to spy on some leaders of BJP and Congress.
It is being said that after this the unit worked to collect information about about 600 BJP leaders. Information was also collected about some former MLAs-councillors of the Congress party. Its purpose was to monitor the strategy being prepared against the government in the camp of its opponents. It is alleged that through this, the Aam Aadmi Party also cast a spell on those Congress leaders who were angry with their party for some reason and after that they were contacted and lured to join the Aam Aadmi Party.
It is being told that an officer of this Special Detective Unit had informed senior officers against the actions of the unit, after which its formal form was changed. It is alleged that now special officers of the government are spying on BJP leaders illegally on his instigation.
What can BJP do
According to the Delhi BJP leader, the matter has been brought to the notice of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena. They can order an inquiry into the matter at their own level. If for any reason the Lieutenant Governor does not order an inquiry into the matter, the party will lodge a formal complaint against it.
Aam Aadmi Party has been telling political allegations
While the politics of Delhi has heated up after this allegation of the BJP, the Aam Aadmi Party is calling it an act of revenge. The party has said that at the behest of the BJP, 163 cases were registered against its leaders by various agencies of the central government. But all these cases were quashed in various courts as no evidence was found by the agencies in any case. You say that this matter is also a conspiracy to surround the Delhi government.
