The parents of the babies admitted in Vivek Vihar’s Baby Care Newborn Hospital were neither allowed to meet their children nor were they allowed to stay in the hospital. They had to pay a fee of Rs. 6000 and Rs. 10-12 thousand every day including medicines and other expenses. They were called every day for money. If there was any delay in paying the money on any day, they were directly told that if they do this, they will not be able to get treatment.

All the babies admitted in the hospital were premature babies. Madhu Rajkumar, who lives in Anand Vihar JJ Camp, is a painter. His wife Suman Devi gave birth to a seven-month premature baby after an operation in a private hospital in Dilshad Garden on May 20. On the same day, he admitted the newborn here. He was collecting money with great difficulty and was paying the hospital every day.

Their child survived the fire. Now he is admitted in NSICU in Vivek Vihar D Block. Singh Nursing Home is also asking them to deposit 15 thousand rupees. Now they are not able to understand from where to pay the money. Mother Suman has undergone an operation, so till now her family has not told her about this fire incident.

Shiv Vihar’s Kallu Prasad’s daughter-in-law gave birth to a six-month-old premature baby (baby girl) three days ago. Due to continuous bleeding, the baby was delivered prematurely through a surgery. In the fire, one hand of the girl is slightly burnt by the fire. There are red rashes on the chest as well. Kallu Prasad, sitting outside Singh Nursing Home, said that the girl’s father is inside the hospital. He works in a private job somewhere.
