NH-48 i.e. Delhi-Jaipur Highway will be closed for 90 days due to construction work. Due to the construction work, both the carriageways of the highway will be closed from Rangpuri to Rajokri. Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Traffic Police Aalap Patel said that a trial will be conducted on Tuesday to close NH-48. Under this, NH-48 will be closed from Rangpuri to Rajokri to see what is the effect on the traffic. He told that further decision will be taken only after seeing the trial. If there is any deficiency, it will be removed. Only after this it will be decided when to close the highway.

According to Delhi Traffic Police officials, NHAI is building the Dwarka Expressway under the Bharat Mala Project. It will be on Dwarka Link Road near Shivmurti on NH-48. Under this project, two underpass and elevated sections will be constructed. Due to this construction work, the Delhi-Jaipur highway will remain closed from Rangpuri to Rajokri. The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory on Monday saying that the highway will be converted from Main Road near Shiv Murti to Sleep Road. Delhi Traffic Police officials are assuming that the closure of the highway will increase the traffic pressure. This can cause trouble to people. Those who are going to airport, bus stand and railway station should leave home after taking enough time.
