Due to a technical fault in the Delhi Advocates Welfare Scheme 2023, started by the Delhi government to provide insurance benefits to the lawyers and advocates of the capital, registration is being hindered. However, Delhi government sources say that this technical problem will be resolved soon and the time limit for registration of lawyers will also be extended by 10 to 15 days. So that lawyers and advocates will be able to register themselves easily.

In a discussion with Amar Ujala, former chairman of the Bar Council of Delhi, Murari Tiwari said that under this scheme of the Delhi government, insurance benefits of up to Rs 10 lakh are provided by the Delhi government to the lawyers and advocates of the state, as well as up to Rs 5 lakh. The facility of medical cover is also provided. To take advantage of this scheme, all the advocates and lawyers are getting registered on their portal. But due to some technical glitch, the registration of lawyers is not being done.

We have given information about this matter to the officers of the Delhi government and the officers looking after the work of the related scheme. They have assured us that this technical glitch will be rectified in the next few days. Later, the advocates will be able to get themselves registered again to take advantage of the scheme. However, sources also say that the Delhi government may extend the last date to register for the scheme by a few days on March 31, so that all lawyers can get registered in this scheme.
