Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha termed the news of his name appearing in the ED probe related to Delhi government’s excise policy as completely false and politically motivated. He said that he has not been named as an accused, suspect or witness in the investigation by ED or any agency. This false news is being spread to malign his image. He warned that spreading false news should be stopped.

Raghav warned the media by holding a press conference

Raghav Chadha said that first of all I want to make it clear that whatever news is being shown on news channels since morning is completely wrong. The story is completely motivated. My name is nowhere in the ED report in the liquor scam case as an accused or a suspect. I am not even named as a witness. But since morning it is being propagated across the country that my name has been added to the charge sheet by the ED as an accused. This is totally wrong. I would like to put my point before you by making a statement. I would like to appeal to the media to clear my position. Otherwise I will take legal action. My name is nowhere in the liquor scam case.

AAP leader Raghav Chadha clarified the situation at a press conference at the party headquarters on Tuesday, terming news channels, newspapers and websites about him as wrong. He said that the reports being done since morning through news channels, websites or newspapers regarding him are completely false and motivated. Other than that he is factless. He said he has not been named as an accused or suspect in any of the ED complaints. He is not even named as a witness. Inspite of this, propaganda is being done across the country through news channels since morning that ED has filed it in the court by including his name as an accused in the charge sheet. He said that the investigation going on for the last one year is completely politically motivated. Its purpose is only to eliminate Aam Aadmi Party and Arvind Kejriwal, because Aam Aadmi Party is continuously increasing under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal and BJP knows that if it has any time, then it is only Arvind Kejriwal.

AAP mentioned in ED’s charge sheet, money spent in Goa elections

Delhi’s special court on Monday took cognizance of the ED’s supplementary charge sheet. In this, the ED has also named the company and its owner and promoter Rajesh Joshi as accused. The ED said that investigation revealed that several people including Rajesh Joshi were involved in the utilization of this criminal proceeds. Joshi’s company Chariot Productions Media Pvt Ltd not only made the payments through banking channels, but around Rs 30 crore was routed through hawala channels. AAP was the real beneficiary in all these transactions, as these transactions were done for campaigning in the Goa elections. This payment was made to vendors who were handling the Goa election campaign. However, the Aam Aadmi Party has been consistently denying these allegations.

Then mention of Raghav Chadha

The ED in its charge sheet once again mentioned Raghav Chadha as before. Citing the statement of C Arvind, secretary to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, the ED said a meeting was held with Raghav Chadha, Excise Commissioner Varun Roojam, officials of the FCT and Punjab Excise at the residence of the then Deputy Chief Minister (Sisodia). Vijay Nair was also present in this meeting. But on the other hand, in the evening, Raghav Chadha, in a press conference, dismissed all these allegations outright.
