Delhi: Mayor Shelly Told- Now Less Tax Will Have To Be Paid On Commercial Properties, Saurabh Hole- Another Promise Fulfilled

Urban Development Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj and Mayor Dr Shaili Oberoi on Saturday claimed that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has fulfilled yet another promise made in the MCD elections. The tax on commercial properties has been reduced by implementing the recommendations of the 5th Municipal Committee. The use factor for rented commercial properties has been reduced from 2 per cent to 1.25 per cent. At the same time, people have been given tax relief by creating separate categories for colonies.

In a press conference with Dr. Shaili Oberoi at AAP party headquarters, Saurabh Bhardwaj said that after the party’s entry into the MCD, tax relief has been given on rented commercial property. The business classes had to face a long problem during Corona. Before the election, Kejriwal had promised that the business class would get relief from ceiling to commercial property tax, it has been fulfilled.

Mayor Dr. Shaili Oberoi said that the Fifth Municipal Valuation Committee (MVC) had given some of its recommendations last year. He was accepted on 4 November 2022. The corporation implemented all the recommendations of the MVC from April 1, 2023. Its order was taken out on 19 April 2023. 29 recommendations have been made in this.

All the recommendations of MVC include use factor, occupational factor, age factor and structure factor. Commercial, residential properties, banquet halls, guest houses, farm houses, multiplexes, petrol pumps have all been given a lot of relief. Different categories have been created for the colonies and changes have been brought in the categories of many colonies.

Separate categories have been made for Old Age Home, Baratghar, Community Center, Farmhouse. The use factor for rental properties has been reduced from two per cent to 1.25 per cent. The use factor of the banquet hall has been reduced from six per cent to four per cent.

The use factor of the private sector has been reduced from three per cent to two per cent. The use factor of PGs and hostels has been reduced from four to two per cent. Colonies and societies will dispose of 100 percent wet waste in a scientific manner, then they have also been given a concession of five percent.
