The sudden downpour that started in Delhi-NCR on Friday morning surprised people. Due to dense clouds and heavy rain, it became dark in the afternoon itself. Drivers had to drive on the roads with lights on. The temperature has also dropped due to rain. The weather department says it may rain tomorrow also. There is a possibility of hailstorm and strong wind at some places along with thunder. The department has predicted the temperature to drop from New Year’s Eve.
Due to intermittent rain throughout the day, problems of waterlogging and traffic jams were also seen in Noida. The speed of vehicles slowed down in areas like Sector-18, 16, 15, Sector-62 and Expressway. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of more rain in the next 24 hours.
The rain increased the cold further, due to which the city residents started feeling the cold more. Due to rain, the roads became slippery, due to which the risk of accidents also increased. Weather experts say that this cold spell may continue for the next few days, and city residents have been advised to exercise caution. At the same time, due to drop in temperature, people have started going out wearing warm clothes. The local administration has deployed additional personnel to handle the traffic situation, so that any untoward incident can be avoided.
Fog remained throughout the day in Gurugram

Due to rain, there was waterlogging on the service lane of the expressway near Narsinghpur. Vehicles had to move through waterlogging, due to which drivers had to face problems.
Electricity transformer fell on the road leading to Mini Secretariat in Gurugram
In Gurugram, an electric transformer fell on the road leading to the Mini Secretariat in front of the court parking near the District Court, due to which the road was closed and people going to and from the Mini Secretariat and the court had to face a lot of trouble. Those coming to the Mini Secretariat had to go through Rajiv Chowk. During this period, electricity remained cut for several hours, due to which people had to face problems.
