Two criminals who kidnapped a businessman in Narela and extorted ransom from him were arrested after an encounter in which an employee was also involved.

The Outer North District Special Staff has arrested two criminals who kidnapped a businessman and demanded ransom of lakhs of rupees after an encounter. The arrested criminals were again trying to threaten and kidnap the businessman. The criminals have been identified as Vinay and Vijay. When the police team surrounded them on Tuesday morning, the criminals opened fire on them. In retaliation, a bullet fired by the police hit Vinay’s leg. The police admitted Vinay to a nearby hospital and after getting him treated, the police arrested both the criminals. Many criminal cases are already registered against the criminals.
District Deputy Commissioner of Police Ravi Singh said that Rajiv Singh (38), a resident of Narela, has a potato lending business in Narela Grain Market. Rajiv complained about extortion in Narela police station. He said that on August 25, the miscreants called him on his mobile and demanded extortion of four lakh rupees. On ignoring the threat, the caller told him that they were the same miscreants who had kidnapped him in February this year and extorted 3.40 lakh rupees from him. He had not complained to the police in that case.
