New Delhi. Complaints about getting wrong or high water bills will now be a thing of the past in Delhi. Delhi Jal Board will connect every meter of water with GIS for this. Along with this, a unique ID will also be given by applying the QR code. The board will also use artificial intelligence (AI) to make its services advanced and user-friendly. This will prevent loopholes in bills and curb corruption.

Delhi Jal Board is actually going to make many new changes in its Revenue Management System (RMS). In this, ordinary meters will be converted into smart meters. For this, customers will not need to change the meter. The old meter itself will be converted into a smart one. For this the meter will be linked to GIS and QR code will be placed on it. After joining this, meter readers will not be able to take any carelessness in taking readings. The board says that the services of an expert firm have been taken for the study, action plan and technical assistance of this project. The tender for the project has been issued. The agency providing world’s best technology will be selected by Delhi Jal Board for this work.

The cleverness of the meter reader will not work

After the complete system is ready, the cleverness of the meter reader will not work. Its GIS route plan will be made through the app. With this plan, it will be possible to track whether the meter reader has reached home to take the reading of the meter given in the route or not. Along with this, it will also be mandatory for the meter reader to upload the photo of the reading in the system. Information like time and location will be available in the GIS tag photo of the meter.
