The entire North India is shivering due to freezing cold, fog and severe cold wave. Severe cold has troubled people for seven consecutive days. This problem will continue for now. There will be dense fog in the morning and extremely cold conditions during the day for 4-5 days in the plains of North India including Punjab and Haryana.

At the same time, due to cold wave the mercury also remains below. Even on Wednesday, the minimum temperature in most areas dropped to between 2 to 5 degrees Celsius. The mercury remained at 3.5 degrees Celsius in Delhi for the second day. On the other hand, the Meteorological Department has also issued an orange alert for fog in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi for January 18. Even today there is fog in NCR.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), dense fog was seen in most parts of Punjab between 5:30 am and 8:30 am on Wednesday. There was dense fog in some areas of Haryana, Chandigarh, western Uttar Pradesh, western Rajasthan and Uttarakhand. However, there was less fog in the Ganga plains.

According to satellite images, fog has reduced somewhat in Bihar, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Northern Madhya Pradesh and Delhi. It was sunny in Delhi since Wednesday morning. Visibility was 200 meters in Safdarjung and Palam of Delhi. Whereas in Patiala, Ambala and Bareilly it was recorded at 25 meters.
