It is freezing cold in most parts of North India. It is cold in many parts including Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan. The minimum temperature in Delhi is likely to remain at 8 degree Celsius on Thursday. There is some respite from cold and fog in Delhi on Thursday.
According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi’s Palam recorded a minimum temperature of 9.7 degrees Celsius, while Safdarjung recorded a minimum temperature of 7.0 degrees Celsius, amid the ongoing cold wave in parts of northern India.
Earlier on Wednesday too, there was some respite from the fog in Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, from December 31, the outbreak of cold wave and dense fog has been predicted to increase again. Dense fog is likely in parts of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.
There is severe winter in many states. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Delhi on Thursday is expected to be 8 degree Celsius while the maximum temperature is likely to be 23 degree Celsius. Due to sunshine in the capital on Wednesday, people got some relief from the cold. There is a possibility of increasing cold in Delhi-NCR with the beginning of the new year.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), people will get some relief from dense fog and cold wave for the next 48 hours, but from December 31, the outbreak of dense fog and cold wave will increase again. In the first week of the new year, most areas of northwest India may face dense fog and cold wave.
