Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Saturday dedicate to the nation the 1,600 MW Lara Super Thermal Power Station of NTPC in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh through video conferencing and lay the foundation stone of another 1,600 MW plant under the second phase.
A statement from the power ministry said the first phase of the station has been developed at a cost of about Rs 15,800 crore, while the second phase of the project will see an investment of Rs 15,530 crore. Coal for the project will be supplied from NTPC’s Talaipalli coal block through a merry-go-round (MGR) system, thereby ensuring low-cost power supply to the country. Coal consumption will be reduced in all units and carbon-dioxide emissions will be reduced.
Will also inaugurate three projects of South Eastern Coalfields
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate three first mile connectivity projects of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) worth Rs 600 crore in Chhattisgarh on Saturday through teleconferencing. SECL is a subsidiary of Coal India. The first project is Deepka Open Cast Project (OCP) which has been constructed at a cost of more than Rs 211 crore. The second project is Bark OCP costing Rs 173 crore. The third project is Baraud OCP Coal Handling Plant at a cost of Rs 216 crore.
Will inaugurate 5 AIIMS including UP-Gujarat tomorrow
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate five AIIMS, including Gujarat’s first All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), in Rajkot on Sunday. During the ceremony, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate four other newly constructed AIIMS located at Mangalagiri (Andhra Pradesh), Bathinda (Punjab), Rae Bareli (Uttar Pradesh) and Kalyani (West Bengal) through teleconferencing. Gujarat Health Minister Hrishikesh Patel on Friday said the out-patient department (OPD) of the super-speciality hospital near Para Pipliya village on the outskirts of Rajkot city is already operational, PM Modi will inaugurate the in-patient department (IPD) . PM Modi had laid the foundation stone of Rajkot AIIMS through video conferencing in December 2020.
Pilot project of grain storage inaugurated
Apart from this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the pilot project of the world’s largest grain storage in the cooperative sector today. The project is being operated in 11 primary agricultural credit societies of 11 states. During this period, PM Modi will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of more schemes in the cooperative sector.
