Delhi Police Commissioner statement on social media: Just as oxygen is most needed to live life, in the same way social media is playing a big role in the lives of most people in the 21st century. There will be very few people in the country who will not have any involvement of social media in their daily life. It is a different matter that there are many people who misuse social media. Such people spoil the atmosphere of the country by making political and communal statements regarding any incident. Keeping all these things in mind, new instructions have been given by the Delhi Police to the security personnel deployed in their departments.
In the instructions of the Delhi Police, departmental employees have been told that they need to avoid political posts on social media. Instead of supporting and opposing government schemes, Delhi Police personnel have been instructed to discharge their duties.
“While performing the duty, understand the responsibility of khaki”
Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora (Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora) has said in the latest order that any policeman and officer should avoid political statements and posts. While discharging one’s duties one should fulfill the responsibility by being completely non-political. Avoid unnecessary posts on social media, especially during duty. Also, the internet should be used only for essential tasks. In any political, criminal or serious matters, it has been advised to completely avoid support and opposition through posts on social media. Apart from this, it has also been said that this administrative responsibility is considered very sensitive and serious to secure the society, hence unnecessary posts on social media accounts such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter should be avoided.
Try to make social media a medium to connect with the needy people of the society. Social media can also be used to get inputs related to any event.
There are few people like this in the police department
Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora said that there are some people associated with Delhi Police who also do many entertainment activities and political posts on social media. This problem is not only of Delhi Police but also of other states. These days videos of policemen posted in the department go viral on Facebook and Instagram reel, after which many things are said about them in support and opposition on social media. Keeping this in mind, from time to time, senior officers are also advised to avoid rhetoric and dance entertainment on social media.
