Reservation Row: An FIR has been registered on Sunday (April 28) regarding the edited video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. In this video, BJP leaders are allegedly seen talking about ending the reservation for SC-ST and OBC. However, this video has been proved to be fake in PTI’s fact check.
Delhi Police has registered an FIR on the complaint of the Home Ministry in the matter of spreading this edited video. According to sources, action may be taken across the country against people sharing this video on social media.
Against whom was the FIR lodged?
According to the FIR, a case has been filed against all the people who spread this fake video of Amit Shah. In this case, Special Cell Cyber Wing of Delhi Police has registered an FIR under Section 153/153A/465/469/171G of IPC and Section 66C of IT Act.
What did Amit Shah finally say?
In the fake video, BJP leader Amit Shah is shown saying that reservation for SC-ST and OBC will be abolished as soon as the government is formed. At the same time, in fact, the Union Home Minister had talked about removing the reservation given to the Muslim community as soon as the government is formed. It is noteworthy that recently the Karnataka government had decided to include Muslims in the OBC list.

Speaking to ANI, the Union Home Minister said, “Rahul Gandhi and Congress are misleading the countrymen regarding reservation. For appeasement, Congress has tried to end reservation by giving reservation to minorities in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh and depriving SC-ST and OBC in institutions like Jamia and AMU, but this is Modi ji’s guarantee that as long as BJP is there, Congress will not be able to even touch reservation.

BJP’s IT cell head Amit Malviya had posted this fake video shared by Telangana Congress on Facebook on April 27. He wrote in the post, “Telangana Congress is spreading an edited video, which is completely fake and is likely to lead to large-scale violence. Home Minister Amit Shah had talked about removing the reservation given to Muslims in an unconstitutional manner by reducing the share of SC/ST and OBC. This fake video has been posted by many Congress spokespersons. They should be prepared for legal action.
