Another act of the Mehrauli police station, which claims to have solved the Shraddha Walkar murder case, has come to the fore. SI Ravi Rana, posted at Mehrauli police station, appeared in the High Court as Investigating Officer (IO) in a case, but he did not know anything about the case.

The High Court asked to bring this negligence of Mehrauli Police to the notice of Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora. After this, the Delhi Police Commissioner lashed out at the subordinate officers. Along with this, South District Deputy Commissioner of Police Chandan Chowdhary also lashed out at the officers.

In fact, there was a hearing in the High Court last week regarding the cancellation of the FIR (0634/2021) related to dowry and divorce lodged in Mehrauli police station. In this case, SI Ravi Rana from Mehrauli police station appeared in the High Court as the investigating officer. When the court asked the investigating officer some questions related to the case, he could not answer.

On this, the High Court said that this matter should be brought to the notice of the Commissioner of Police. A senior officer of Delhi Police said that when this matter came to the notice of the Commissioner of Police, he heard the officials concerned from the South district very harshly. He also called Meenu Chowdhary, Joint Commissioner of Police, South Range, who always kept distance from the media, to the police headquarters.

A senior officer of South District said that after this, South District Deputy Commissioner of Police Chandan Chaudhary called Mehrauli Police Station President PC Yadav and Mehrauli and ACP Vinod Narang to the office at Hauzkhas on Thursday morning. He thrashed both of them for about two and a half hours. It is being told that due to the Mehrauli police, the district has become very dirty.

Deputy Commissioner of Police created court WhatsApp group

After the incident, District Deputy Commissioner of Police Chandan Chowdhary formed a High Court Matter WhatsApp group on Thursday itself. All the police officers of the district have been added to this. In this, this information will be given that which are the cases of the High Court. Who is the investigating officer? Information will be given whether the investigating officer is going to the court or not.

How will the conviction rate increase

Experts of the law say that if the police do this kind of negligence, then how will the conviction rate increase. It is often seen that due to the busyness of the investigating officer, some other police officer is sent to the court. The second investigating officer does not know anything about the case.
