The ban on BS-3 petrol and BS-4 vehicles is likely to be lifted in Delhi after the air quality index (AQI) improved in the national capital on Thursday. The Supreme Court has allowed the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) to relax restrictions under the current pollution situation in Delhi-NCR. CAQM is a body constituted by the Center to monitor pollution levels. The national capital is hit by high pollution levels. Due to which CAQM was forced to implement Phase 4 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP). In which the movement of some types of vehicles has been restricted. The top court has asked the Commission to implement GRAP Phase 2 cautiously.
