In Alipur’s Bakhtawarpur area late on Friday night, a neighbor along with his accomplice killed a young man by stabbing him with a knife. After executing the incident, the accused fled along with his accomplice. On Saturday, the police conducted the post-mortem of the dead body and handed it over to the relatives. Preliminary investigation has revealed that the deceased was friends with the sister of the accused, which the accused was not liking. The police have registered a case of murder. Police is interrogating an accomplice of the main accused in custody.
The deceased has been identified as Sourav. He lived with his family in Arjun Basti, Bakhtawarpur. At the same time, the accused Chintu also lived with his relatives in the same locality. Police received information about a youth being stabbed to death at Ambedkar Park at 11.20 pm on Friday night. Police reached the spot and saw that Sourav had been stabbed four-five times in the stomach and chest. A knife was lying at the spot. Police sent the body for postmortem and took possession of the knife.
The police interrogated the family and people around the deceased. It was learned that Chintu had executed the incident along with his accomplices. Initial investigation revealed that Sourav was friends with Chintu’s sister, which was opposed by Chintu and his family. Chintu had several times stopped Sourav from meeting his sister. There was also a fight between the two regarding this matter, but Sourav had ignored his words. People told that there was a fight between them about 15 days ago as well.
Investigation revealed that on Friday night, Chintu drank alcohol with one of his companions and Sourav and then there was an altercation between them. Meanwhile, Chintu escaped after attacking Sourav with a knife. On Saturday morning, one of Chintu’s companions has been taken into custody by the police from the area and is raiding in search of Chintu.
