Amid a sudden spike in air pollution due to fog, the Centre’s air quality panel on Friday directed implementation of restrictions under the third phase of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR. Which includes a ban on non-essential construction and demolition work. At the same time, the restrictions implemented under the third phase of GRAP were removed two days ago.

Delhi’s 24-hour average air quality index on Friday stood at 400, which is a notch below the severe category. In a review meeting on GRAP, the committee said that the AQI is likely to worsen in the coming days due to inclement weather conditions.
