The Tihar administration and the police have come face to face in connection with the leak of CCTV footage of the murder of gangster Sunil Mann alias Tillu Tajpuria in Tihar Jail. Tihar administration has become strict after the displeasure of the High Court. It is alleged that the footage was leaked after giving it to the police.

The footage has not been leaked from the Tihar administration. Director General of Tihar Administration Sanjay Beniwal has written to the Police Commissioner asking him to register an FIR against the police officers who leaked the footage. The Police Commissioner’s office is looking into the matter.

A senior Tihar administration official said that the jail administration had first given the footage to the Hari Nagar police station in the western district. After this the footage went to the Special Cell and Crime Branch. Meanwhile the footage got leaked and went viral on social media. The Tihar administration is also probing the matter at its own level.

At the same time, a senior police officer of the Special Cell said that the role of Ataul Rehman and Vinod alias Chavvani, who were serving life imprisonment in Tillu’s murder, has also come to the fore. Ataul was the main conspirator for Tillu’s murder. Police sources say that Ataul had no enmity with Tillu. The Gogi gang had lured him with a hefty amount. On this, Ataul got involved in the conspiracy of murder.

Ataul came into limelight when he killed gangster Prince Tewatia, who was lodged in Tihar. Ataul knew how to kill in Tihar. Gangster Rohit Chaudhary had talked about giving one crore rupees to Ataul for the murder of Prince. The Special Cell has taken Ataul and Vinod on police remand for two days.
