NEET-PG Exam Date: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday (June 29) said that the National Board of Examinations (NBE) will announce a new date for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) within the next two days.
NEET-PG was among the exams cancelled last week as a precautionary measure amid growing controversy over alleged irregularities in competitive exams. “The date for NEET-PG will be announced by the NBE in a day or two,” Pradhan told reporters in Panchkula, Haryana.
Dharmendra Pradhan’s remarks came a day after the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced revised dates for the three exams that were cancelled.
It will be held from 21 August to 4 September
The University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) exam was held on June 18, but was cancelled a day later. The exam will now be held afresh from August 21 to September 4. The exam was cancelled after the Ministry of Education received information that the sanctity of the exam had been compromised.
Pradhan had said that the question paper was leaked on the darknet and made public on the Telegram app. The CBI is investigating the matter. CSIR UGC-NET was postponed as a precautionary measure. Now this exam will be held from July 25 to July 27.
NCET exam was also cancelled
The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) for admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Program (ITEP) in IITs, NITs, RIEs and government colleges as well as select central and state universities or institutions will now be held on July 10. This exam was earlier scheduled to be held on June 12, but it was postponed a few hours before the scheduled time.
At the same time, while answering a question about the opposition targeting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Center on the issue of NEET exam, Pradhan said, “Congress does not want discussion. It wants to run away from discussion. Its only purpose is to create chaos, confusion and obstruct the smooth functioning of the entire institutional system.
