Scorpio riding miscreants kidnapped a diamond businessman in Darbhanga. However, the police took prompt action and recovered the businessman safely. Along with this, the police have also arrested two criminals. The incident took place in Khaira village located in Pator OP area. The kidnapped youth is Vikas Mahato alias Vivek, resident of Khaira.

Diamond businessman recovered safely in one and a half hour

Regarding the incident, police say that around 10 pm on Tuesday night, criminals kidnapped a diamond businessman. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police started a checking campaign by blocking the police stations of Pator, Bahadurpur, Nagar, Kotwali, Laheriasarai, Bahadurpur, Hayaghat, Vishanpur etc. During this time, the police of Laheriasarai police station seized Scorpio from Pandasarai and recovered the kidnapped diamond businessman Vikas Mahato alias Vivek safely. Two criminals involved in this incident were arrested by the police, while three criminals absconded. The arrested criminals have been identified as Rakesh Yadav and Raja Kumar Thakur, residents of Taralahi under Bahadurpur police station area.

Kidnapped posing as a policeman

The recovered kidnapped businessman told that he was kidnapped by all the accused pretending to be policemen. They were demanding Rs 5 lakh. When he refused, they took him to a garden, where they started beating Vivek. Then they locked him in the car and started taking him somewhere else. The youth recovered during interrogation revealed himself to be a diamond businessman.

Diamond businessman told a different story

The diamond businessman told that during demonetization he had stolen Rs 45 lakh from his boss’s house in Agra city and brought it home. Built his grand house with this. For this reason the miscreants kidnapped him. However, the police did not believe these things. Police also say that this entire matter seems to be related to liquor business.
