Diana Edulji Criticize Indian Women Cricketers On Poor Fielding Running And Fitness After Womens T20 World Cup Exit

Diana Edulji on Indian Women’s Team: In the Women’s T20 World Cup 2023, the Indian team had to face a thrilling defeat in the semi-finals. Australia defeated India by 5 runs in this match. Harmanpreet’s run out here was the turning point of the match. He was run out due to his slow pace and his failure to keep the bat inside the crease. Apart from this, the Indian team also showed poor fielding during Australia’s batting, due to which the Australian team was able to score big. Now former Indian women’s team captain Diana Edulji has vented her anger on these mistakes of Indian players.

Talking to PTI, Diana said, ‘BCCI should properly analyze the fitness of women players. I know yo-yo test is very difficult for women, if it is implemented for women team then 12 out of 15 players of T20 World Cup squad will fail in this test. Even if there is no yo-yo test, there will have to be some fitness criteria for the Indian women’s team.

Diana said, ‘First of all he needs to improve his fitness. He will have to work on things like fielding, catching, running on the wicket. Unless there is life in your feet, you will not be able to run. They definitely need a pole to reach the top. They are getting everything from BCCI. Equal salary is also available. Every time you lose a match you won. It has become like a habit. BCCI should take a big decision on this.

Harmanpreet got angry even on this mistake
During this, Diana also questioned Harmanpreet’s mistake. He said, ‘Harmanpreet was very casual while taking the second run. She is thinking that the bat was stuck but if you look carefully, she ran the second run very slowly. When you know that your wicket is very important, then how can you run so relaxed. You have to play professional cricket to win. You see Perry’s dive where he saved two runs. This is professionalism. They did not give up till the last and here we were not ready to fight.
