The correspondence between Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday increased tension. In a letter sent to the Chief Minister, the Lieutenant Governor has termed the political situation after the Supreme Court verdict as chaotic.

According to the Lt Governor, since the decision of the Constitutional Bench, the Delhi government and ministers are taking decisions in a hurry, ignoring the rules and procedures and intimidating and threatening the officials. In his letter, the Lieutenant Governor has also specifically mentioned the name of Saurabh Bhardwaj, Minister of Services Department.

At the same time, in the reply letter, the Chief Minister said that the language of the Lieutenant Governor’s letter is of war. If Saurabh has made any mistake, then the Lieutenant Governor can be called and scolded, but he should allow the elected government to do the work of the people of Delhi.

In the letter, the Lieutenant Governor has written that since the Supreme Court’s decision, the Delhi government and ministers, especially Saurabh Bhardwaj of the Services Department, have been involved in unconstitutional, shameless, intimidating and disrespectful acts. Referring to the conversation he had with the Chief Minister soon after the decision was announced, the Lt Governor has written that after studying the decision, he will get the officials to follow it. For this, he had asked to give two to three days’ time.

Along with this, it was also said that the Chief Minister can talk to him over the phone. The Lieutenant Governor has further written that with the increase in powers, the responsibilities also increase. In such a situation, ethical and constitutional procedures should be followed by the government. Despite this, the Chief Minister and the Ministers, in a dramatic and complicated manner, hastily started creating ruckus on the orders of the court. The rules have also been ignored in this. Constant media pressure is also being created, so that the recommendations of the Minister (Services) are implemented without thinking. For this, the officers were threatened, so that they would support the arbitrariness of the ministers.
