Ingredients for making curry

Peeled Moong Dal – 2 cups broken
Chili powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – 1 tsp powder
Oil – 1 tbsp for tempering
Asafoetida – 2 pinches or half teaspoon
Finely chopped coriander – 1 tbsp
Water – 2 to 3 glasses
salt – as per taste
oil – as needed

how to make

step 1: To make Karayl, first of all keep the peeled moong dal in water for about 2 hours. After soaking well, wash it and separate its peels. When the peels separate, separate the water from the lentils and filter them. After this, grind it well with the help of a mixer and make a paste. Keep in mind that do not add too much water to this paste. Doing this can spoil your paste. After this add a pinch of asafoetida and as per requirement of salt to the moong dal paste and mix it well. After this, keep it again for about 5 minutes and leave it.

Step-2: Now put oil in a pan and heat it. After this, we will make dumplings of the prepared paste in low flame. When the dumplings turn golden brown, take them out in a plate. In this pan, we will prepare the masala for the curry. For this, put oil in a pan and add garlic and onion paste to it. When oil starts separating from this paste, add turmeric, coriander, red chili and garam masala to it. Add salt as required and add water to it and prepare gravy. As soon as the water and spices are cooked well, reduce the flame of the gas and put the dumplings in it and keep it covered. Garnish with green coriander on the curry prepared from moong dal and can be served with rice or rotis.
