Ingredients to make Makhmali Kofta

Khoya – 100 grams
Flour – 6 tbsp
Sweet soda – 1/8 tsp
Ghee – 60 grams
Cumin – 1 tsp
Finely chopped ginger – 1 teaspoon
Poppy seeds – 2 tbsp
Coconut flakes – 1/4 cup
Ground coriander – 1 teaspoon
Garam masala – 1 tsp
Ground black pepper – 1/4 tsp
Cornflour – 2 tsp dissolved in 1/2 cup milk
Chopped coriander – 2 teaspoons
salt – as per taste

How to make Makhmali Kofta

To make Makhmali Kofta, first of all mash the khoya well. Now mix a little more flour in it and knead it like a dough. Now you will make small kofta-sized balls of this flour. After this, take a pan, in which ghee will be heated. When the ghee becomes hot, we will put flour koftas in it. Now fry these small balls of flour on medium flame till they turn brown. When they turn brown, take them out in a vessel.

After this, poppy seeds and coconut can be used to make gravy for this vegetable. For this, soak poppy seeds and coconut in some water for an hour and grind them to make a paste. Now take a heavy bottom pan, in which heat ghee and splutter cumin seeds. When the cumin seeds crackle, add ginger to it. Now fry both of them till they turn light brown.

After this add ground poppy and coconut paste, coriander, salt, garam masala and black pepper and fry. Add 3 cups of water to it and boil for about 5 minutes. Now add cornflour solution in it and boil for a few minutes, then add koftas. Boil again for 2-3 minutes and garnish with cream and green coriander leaves. Now you can serve these tasty velvet koftas with naan, roti or rice.
