The rod of the DJ tied to the Kanwadias’ pickup touched the high tension line passing overhead. Due to this, five people including four children sitting at the back of the pickup got electric shock and they jumped and fell from the pickup. All five were taken to different private hospitals. One was referred to Lucknow Trauma Center as his condition was serious. On learning about the incident, CO Baghauli and CO Sandiala reached the spot and enquired about the incident.

Every year Kanwariyas from Khajohna village go to Mehndighat in Kannauj to collect Ganga water. Here, after taking Ganga water, they perform Jalabhishek at Sunasirnath temple in Mallawan and then go back to their village. On Sunday evening, after tying a DJ on a pickup, about 25 Kanwariyas were going on foot. Pintu (28), a resident of Khajohna, Ankit alias Chotu (5), son of Radhe, Preet (6), son of Pankaj, Rahul (12), son of Rajesh, a resident of Jaitpur, Prince (5), son of Hulli were sitting in the pickup near the DJ. On Khajohna Jaitpur road, the rod fitted above the DJ touched the 11 thousand volt line coming from above.
Due to this, current passed through the DJ and the pickup. Due to the current, all the five people sitting on the pickup jumped and fell on the road and became unconscious. This sudden incident created chaos on the spot. The Kanwariyas admitted Rahul and Prince in a private hospital in Gausapur, whereas Ankit, Preet and Pintu were admitted in a private hospital in Gausganj. On getting to know about the incident, CO Baghauli Vinod Dubey reached the spot. After enquiring about the burnt people in the private hospital, Pintu was sent to Sandiala CHC and from there to Lucknow Trauma Center. CO Sandiala Satendra Singh also reached the spot.
